She just keeps getting better. So if you liked that first Holly Cole record we put out a while back, you're sure to love this new project. The Perfect Vessels also have a strong debut album called "Name Our Own Stars" which is hitting stores tomorrow. Hey folks, so we're wrapping up 2010 w/ some exciting shows (see below for details). And we're kickin off 11' with a slew of new records, including local and national release of Glorie's debut record, as well as the national release of Holly and the Memphis Dolls and the Perfect Vessels (both currently available locally). Also, be on the lookout for updates on Makeshift #6 and a new full length from Snowglobe, both of which are currently in the works and may be available in late 2011. Shows Nov. 20 - Snowglobe and The Colour Revolt @ the Hi Tone Doors: 9:00 PM Starts: 10:00 PM Ages: 18+ Tickets: $10 Nov. 26 - Blair Combest, Holly & the Memphis Dolls, etc. @ Otherlands Part of the "Girl's Night Out" series of shows. It will be the day after thanksgiving. You'll be stuffed chock full of turkey (or soy/gluten-based products) and ready to chill to some good acoustic jams. Doors @ 8:00 PM, Starts@ 8:30 PM
Dec. 25th - Snowglobe's annual Christmas show @ the Hi Tone
The full band will be performing it's yearly christmas show at the Hi Tone, which has become a local holiday tradition of sorts. If it gets too packed in the audience, there will be plenty of room on stage to sing, dance, and jump around. Come be a part of the fun!

Hi-oh, peeps. This weekend, we've got 3 (count 'em) big shows to promote . . . we hope to see y'all out. 1. Rock for Love DVD/Concert film premiere @ Playhouse on the Square - Friday night (10/22). Film screens @ 9 pm and features live performances from Snowglobe, Lord T & Eloise, Al Kapone, Magic Kids, the Warble, River City Tanlines and TONS more! $10 admission includes the screening AND a FREE Playhouse rooftop afterparty from 10-12 featuring live music from Snowglobe, Pezz and the Near Reaches.
2. Makeshift Music stage @ River Arts Fest - Saturday afternoon (10/23). Makeshift programmed the main stage for River Arts Fest (FREE, outdoor, family-friendly arts festival in the South Main arts district downtown). Music runs from 11 am - 6 pm. Line-up: Holly Cole, Pezz, Wampa, the Near Reaches, the Limes and River City Tanlines.
3. Perfect Vessels CD release @ the Hi-Tone - Saturday night (10/23). The Perfect Vessels will unveil their awesome debut Makeshift Music release, "Name Our Own Stars." The show also features the Subteens and Tiger Mountain. GET INVOLVED. |

Rock for Love 4, our annual benefit concert for the Church Health
Center, is set for Aug. 19-21 at the Hi-Tone, 1913 Poplar Ave. There will also be a free
day party from Noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21 at Shangri-La Records, 1916 Madison Ave. 
Thursday, Aug. 19 at the Hi Tone – $5. 9 p.m. 18+. Star and Micey, Holly Cole and the Memphis Dawls, Teflon Don, the Candy Company. Emcee: Blair Combest.
Friday, Aug. 20 at the Hi Tone – $10. 9 p.m. 18+. The Dirty Streets, the Magic Kids, Glorie, Skewby. Emcee: Ross Johnson.
Saturday, Aug. 21 at Shangri-La – Sounds of Memphis Rock for Love 4 Day Party. FREE. Noon to 5 p.m. All-ages. Amy LaVere, Near Reaches, Oracle and the Mountain, the Burning Sands, Chinese Lanterns
Saturday, Aug. 21 at the Hi Tone. $15. 9 p.m. 18+. Lucero, the Bulletproof Vests, Jeremy Stanfill. Emcee: Al Bell.
Tickets are available online at HiToneMemphis.com or at the door if available. Shangri-La will donate 20 percent of store sales from the day party to the Church Health Center and donations will be accepted.
Infolexa is hosting a Rock for Love 4 online auction at http://auction.infolexa.com . The auction will close at midnight Aug. 21. The Memphis Roller Derby will host a merchandise table with a variety of CDs, T-shirts, records and other merchandise available for purchase, all to benefit the Center.
